ICAR-CARI celebrates World Egg Day - 2021

 World Egg Day -8th October

Marking the celebrations of the Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav to commemorate 75 Years of India’s Independence, the ICAR-Central Avian Research Institute, Izatnagar, Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh celebrated the “World Egg Day” on this Year’s theme - Eggs for all: Nature’s perfect package today.

In his address, the Chief Guest, Dr. Bhupendra Nath Tripathi, Deputy Director General (Animal Science), ICAR stressed on the need for boosting the egg production in the country. Dr. Tripathi also emphasized on developing the climate-resilient poultry varieties that can sustain low input for backyard poultry to combat malnutrition among the rural masses and landless laborers. The DDG accentuated on strengthening the R&D efforts on climate-resilient poultry production, AMR issues, value-addition and improvement in value-chain by devising the better storage and transport facilities for eggs in the country.


In his address, Dr. A.K. Tiwari, Director, ICAR-CARI, Izatnagar, Bareilly underlined the Institute’s role in developing the various varieties / strains of chickens suitable for the backyard poultry farming.


Dr. Latha Sashi, Fernandez Hospital, Hyderabad delivered a Lecture on “Nutrition and role of Eggs in Human Health”.


The Institute organized an Awareness Programme on “Nutritive Value of Eggs in Human Health” for the students of Primary School, ICAR-IVRI Campus along with a National Webinar, Quiz Competition for PG Students and Slogan Writing Competition on It’s all about an Egg” during the occasion.
